I have used Google Earth in my professional & personal life and I like it. When I created my Google page I added Google Maps, Horoscope and Funny Quotes but I did not save it because even though it was not hard to do I only did it because I had to and I have no use for it!!!!

For this task I checked out the music, shopping & travel and family & kids sections and my pick is Groupon. This site gives you daily deals on restaurants, shopping, spas and all sorts of things all over the United States. With the economy being in the situation it is this site is v-e-r-y helpful to anyone who checks it out.

I don't have a problem with a child having a facebook account as long as it is being monitored by their parents. Because when I take a look at some of the adult accounts I wonder... WHAT WERE THEY THINKING? You would not use that language in person or pose for that picture at a studio but you are placing your stupid comments and awful photos on the computer for the world to see. Out of the 5 Fun and Safe Social Networks for Children the one I would allow my child to go on would be Togetherville because it gives me more control over whom my child is communicating with. What's What, GiantHello & Skid-e-Kids are out of the question...because there is no way I am going to give out my personal information(credit card or social security card) so that my kid can chit-chat on the internet. As for Linkedin I think this is a good site for professional schmoozing which I have no interest in. Webjunction on the other hand was not only easy to navigate but interesting. I am all for technology as long as you keep common sense, good health and everyday social skills into play. And for right now I feel that the more computer knowledge we as humans gain the dumber we get because we forget how to treat others, how to discipline our kids and how to enjoy life.

If you have been following my post you probably already know that I am not a member of any other online networking communities. I don't have a problem with it, I just rather not have a relationship with a person via the internet. Because whether you believe it or not if you have the right training/knowledge of computers, the internet and computer programs you can access anything that a person puts on their computer. But I do understand why so many people are interested in online communities. It is a good way for people to find and keep in touch with family, friends, associates and business partners. And it gives you a place to speak your mind on subjects that you would avoid in person.

THING 15
Answers to the questions posed in Thing 15:
1. I accessed all of them.
2. I found Podcast and Podbean as being easiest for me.
3. No, I don't plan to subscribe.
4. Aside from promotional publications available to patrons, I wonder if there's a practical
application for podcasts in the library. We certainly couldn't use speakers in the public
areas. To avoid sound from disturbing the patrons, it seems that the library would have to have
headsets available on a much larger scale than we have now. At least promoting headsets would be a
good source of revenue.

As we all know, this is nothing but trick photography. If God had intended for jets to fly, He'd have given them propellers.
